Graffiti mecca 5Pointz repainted white in Long Island City, Queens
ロングアイランドの再開発計画のため、年内に取り壊され高級マンションが建つそうです。最初はヴィンテージスニーカーの倉庫を掘りに行った90年代初期、2000年ころには雑誌の取材でNYを訪れ、現地友人ライターに案内してもらい、5POINTZから街の壁を見ながらブルックリンのイーストニューヨーク近辺の自宅まで歩いて帰ったり、NECKFACEの巨大な腕の作品を屋上で発見したのも確か7番線のこの駅の側だし。某メーカーの撮影でマイクジェロニモと黙って撮影してたら管理人に怒られたりと自分的にも思い出一杯の場所だった。桜木町のバフと同じくらい衝撃的で忘れられない出来事だ。
